Terms of sale and use
Last updated November 3, 2026
Who we are
The 80 Rule (“we,” “us”) makes The Closer’s Budget, a budgeting template for Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel. You can reach us at support@the80rule.com.
Buying
We sell through Etsy. Etsy’s terms and policies apply to your order, payment and download. Prices are in US dollars.
Your license
When you buy, you get a personal license to use the template for yourself or your household. You may make copies for your own use and backups.
You may not resell, share, give away or publish the template or any part of it, or use it to build a competing product. For a team, email us about a team license.
Updates
Every v1 owner gets free updates, including the January rollover. Updates arrive as new files or links. Your existing copy doesn’t change on its own.
Refunds and our promise
Because the template is a digital download, sales are final. If something isn’t working, contact us and we’ll make it right. This doesn’t limit any rights you have under Etsy’s policies or the law.
Not advice
The Closer’s Budget is a budgeting tool. It isn’t financial, tax, legal or investment advice, and it doesn’t promise any result. Examples and sample numbers are illustrative. You decide how to use your money. Talk to a qualified professional about your situation, including how much to set aside for taxes.
Your data
Your copy lives in your own Google Drive or on your own device. We can’t access it. Our privacy policy explains what little we do collect.
Ownership
The template, its design, our written materials and our logos belong to The 80 Rule. Google Sheets, Excel and Etsy are trademarks of their owners. We aren’t affiliated with Google, Microsoft or Etsy.
Other services
The template runs inside Google Sheets or Excel, which have their own terms. We aren’t responsible for changes to those services or for their outages.
Disclaimer
We work hard to make the template accurate and useful, but we provide it as is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about the template is limited to what you paid for it. We aren’t liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses.
Governing law
Florida law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version.
